As soon as removing the Sandal paste, a new layered paste is started to be applied simultaneously because very high amount of heat is released at this time. It is only once a year, during the Chandana Yathra that the sandal paste is removed, and the image is seen by pilgrims. The story is that, this God is very hot to touch and very bright to see and hence huge number of layers of Cool and pure Sandal is applied thereby obtaining a shape externally.
The original image of this God resembles a Sivalingam covered by huge paste of pure Sandal. The deity is a combination of the iconographic features of Varaha and Narasimha and hence the name.
He is so powerful God such that all our intentions are fulfilled and only good things happens to us.
