I need to use the Rockwell Light font in Windows 7/Word 2010 (all service packs applied). I downloaded the free version of this font from '. I have unblocked the downloaded file (right-click, properties etc.) and I have admin priviliges. I installed the font using (right-click and install) and when I view the Rockwell group (Control Panel, Fonts) it is there, along with: Rockwell Bold Rockwell Bold Italic Rockwell Condensed Rockwell Condensed Bold Rockwell Extra Bold Rockwell Italic Rockwell Regular. However, in any MS Office application the Font drop down list only offers me: Rockwell Rockwell Condensed Rockwell Extra Bold.
I can see that most of the other font variations that are not listed are applied by setting the bold/italic attribute in Word but why is 'Rockwell Light' not listed and how else can I access it? Incidentally, if I install this on a Vista PC running Word 2003, the 'Light' font is available in the font list and useable. The font is not hidden. I have tried downloading from different sources but that does not solve the problem.
I have also tried installing it using registerfont.exe. I could try purchasing the font but my client is using a free version (albeit different o/s and Word version for the moment) and I cannot find anything to suggest that W7/Office 2010 should not be able to as well. I can successfully install other downloaded, free fonts.
Many thanks for any help you can give me. Thank you both for your responses. Just an update to say that I am not ignoring this question.
I have had the opportunity to test it on another 2010 PC now and the same thing happens. I have also purchased the font and installed on 2010 and that is fine - it does not install as part of the Rockwell group though but is entirely separate (which is understandable as the purchased font is 'Rockwell MT Light' rather than 'Rockwell Light'). I am pretty sure this is going to be 2010 related. I will do some more testing tomorrow and post back.
